King Offa oversees the building of the dyke

Creation of the English border. Late 8th century

King Offa II was the creator of the 120 mile long dyke which defines the entire length of the border between England and Wales.This earthwork took a huge amount of manpower to construct.Originally the dyke was believed to have been made impregnable by the addition of wooden spikes and prickly vegetation.Several sections are still intact.

Fantasy Artwork by Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor went to Ravenswood School in Kent with, amongst others, David Bowie and Peter Frampton.

He enjoyed his time in the very first specialised school-based art form from where he progressed to study fine art at Croydon College Of Art.

His paintings have been internationally exhibited and featured on BBC programmes such as Country Tracks and The One Show.He has recently had his work displayed in a feature article in 'Pagan Dawn' magazine.
